Eve Gilbert - Biography

Eve was born the youngest of 11 (possibly 12) children in NYC, then moved to Jersey, then ran away and had a fairly unstable life full of drink, drugs, and rock-n-roll. And hitchhiking. While living in cars and abandoned buildings with a 40-ouncer of malt liquor at her side, she wrote comic books and sold them on the street for cash.

Eventually she was published. Now off drugs and a pillar of society, she took time off of her art to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College with a BA in history. She lives in Brooklyn and creates her paintings. Also, she is writing a graphic, non-fiction book about the Vietnam War, one of her unhealthy obsessions.
